Meet the Team

Shawn Denny | President

Shawn is a Master Plumber with over 20 years of experience in plumbing, construction, remodeling, and contract negotiations.

Shawn began his plumbing career in 2000 with Dalton Company. In 2008 he started his own residential plumbing and remodeling business, Miteff Plumbing. In just a few short years, Shawn has built his company to an award winning business including earning Angie’s List Super Service Award for three years in a row (2012, 2013, and 2014.)

When Shawn isn’t working he spends time with his wife and three children. Having an adventurous spirit, Shawn loves to travel but his favorite place to vacation is in beautiful Northern Michigan. He especially enjoys summer in the Sleeping Bear Dunes hiking, biking, and kayaking and in the winter months snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

His mission in life is to be a good husband to his wife, a good father to his children, and to run his business with integrity. His mission in business is twofold: 1) To provide his employee’s with a quality work atmosphere and to help them build the skills they need to become successful tradesmen and 2) To provide his customers with quality workmanship and exceptional service which will be long remembered after a job is complete.

Miteff Plumbing was named after his grandparents, immigrants from Bulgaria, and has been built on the foundation of their values. They came to America in 1952, settled in Lansing and built a life for their family and their future generations. Because they were humble and hardworking, Shawn’s grandfather always told him, “Do a good job for the people and charge them a fair price.” This has now become a core value for Shawn’s company.

Jody Hope | Director of Operations

Jody has over fifteen years of experience as a multi-unit business leader. He has built a career in business development, in particular working with new and/or growing organizations.

As a former fast food franchise business owner, Jody earned several awards for outstanding customer service and sales increase in his region including the Extra Mile Award and Certificate of Achievement for top sales increase in the region.

During his 15 years of business, he coached more than 20 startup businesses, was part of a team responsible for supporting 50 franchise locations, and managed team members responsible for the oversight and development of 196 franchise locations – domestic and international.

Jody has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cornerstone University as well as many other business awards and certificates.

Jody enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and is a die-hard Michigan enthusiast. Any chance he gets he will escape to the Upper Peninsula for vacation, hunting, biking, or any other excuse to visit Northern Michigan.

One of Jody’s missions in life is to help others get on their feet and take care of those who cannot. He donates his time volunteering at the Lansing Food Bank and his family has donated their time to various community service efforts as well.
